Concert To Benefit Local Firefighters on the One-Year Anniversary of 9/11
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 6, 2002) To commemorate the one-year anniversary of September 11th, local musicians, hip-hop/jazz band Addict Merchants and soul/hip-hop/rock band Off Tha Wagon, will perform at an upcoming concert to benefit the Sacramento Fire Fighters Burn Institute, Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 9pm at Harlow’s in Downtown Sacramento, 2708 J Street.
The Fire Fighter’s Burn Institute is a non-profit organization founded by the Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 522 in 1973 to provide assistance to burn victims. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Sacramento Fire Fighters Burn Institute Fund. Ages 21 and over are welcome. The cover charge is $5 dollars.
“Although we wanted to take the time out to commemorate the New York Firefighters for their effort on 9/11 we wanted to use this show as an outlet to express our appreciation for our local firefighters.” Addict Merchant’s Bass player, Nino Machado said.
Twelve’s Wax Emporium, Vapors All-City Magazine, and BloomEternal Design Group will sponsor the event. The concert will also feature performances by guest DJ’s, Riff Raff from KDVS 90.3 FM, DJ P-Sol, DJ Fooders and others. Addict Merchants’ current album, “Matters of Fact” and Off Tha Wagon’s self-titled album will be available for purchase at the event.
